With circuitry based on the famous, discontinued Boss VB-2 Vibrato, the Behringer UV300 Ultra Vibrato is an option to get the sound at a musician-friendly price. Sound shaping takes place through the UV300's Depth, Rate, Rise, and Mode controls, and its true bypass. In this video from Synthmania, we get an unboxing and demonstration of Behringer's new Model D, a clone of the original Minimoog Model D monophonic.

El Vibrato Main Guide
A lot of the El Vibrato stuff happens in the mines. If you're doing a run and need to get things moving fast, Crazy Pete will be a good Pardner since he will very quickly tell you the locations of all the mines in the area.
Here's some key things you can do in Part I (before you've cleared the railroad)
- Find the transponder. The El Vibrato quest starts when you first find the El Vibrato Transponder in the Humming Cave. You can turn this device on and off to attract El Vibrato-related encounters which tend to drop scraps. Having it, you'll soon be alerted of The Perfessor (Professor).
- Set up the two Devices at the Perfessor's House. You take it to the Professor who tells you to locate five scraps. Once you get them, he'll use the scraps to fix up the device at his place, and he points you to the Lost Dutch Oven Mine. Get five more scraps and craft a keystone using the device at his place -- you'll need it.
- At the mine, you'll need Stench Resistance of some sort to get in (one option is to buy the flowers from the girl on the street at Dirtwater), and you'll find a rock wall at the lowest level. Quickly approach the wall and destroy it with a pickaxe and uncover a portal. If you stay too long, you'll have to leave and come back to try again. Use the keystone to unlock it.
- In the portal, you'll pick up a El Vibrato Device here. Bring it back to the professor and you'll have a second device set up at his place.
- At this point you should have the basics: two devices set up at the Professor's house which allows you to use scraps to craft El Vibrato Keystones and El Vibrato Batteries. These two things are basically keys and batteries which you'll be needing. You can collect scraps through encounters and at the Lost Dutch Oven Mine where you can generate and fight constructs to collect scraps, get punchcards and even get keystones (if you fight the harder ones).
- Power up the Generator. Once you've gotten 10 scraps, craft your first battery and take it to the Lost Dutch Oven Mine. Place it in the terminal (the thing with a screen on it). This will power up the quickgate. Go through. There is an El Vibrato Cylinder you can pick up here and a generator (looks like a banged-up letter e). Use the cylinder to power it up. This turns on the terminals at the Curious Copse and the Curious Abandoned Well, which you don't have access to yet until you clear the railway blockage.
You'll also encounter a dude that is crazy in the Lost Dutch Oven Mine. That's Murray. Whenever you get your first El Vibrato Headband/Loop, I'd recommend giving it to him first. It will fix him, and he is super nice. Talk to him when you're both outside the mine and he'll open a shop in Dirtwater.
El Vibrato Part II
This part covers stuff you can do in Part II (before you've built the bridge).
So, in Part I we powered up the Curious Copse and the Curious Abandoned Well terminals. If you haven't done that, go do so now (see above). We'll also be visiting the Madness Maw Mine and Soupstock Lode terminals.
- Curious Abandoned Well. At the well, the terminal in the middle level can now be used to direct the portal to the right to different places. In it's original state directs you to the Education Facility punchcard machine. But its all in gibberish. So, at this point, I'd recommend leaving it alone and collecting some punchcards. The punchcards teach you the language to translate the terminals. It's not strictly necessary, but yeah. Once it's all nice and translated you'll see you now have access to:
- Education Facility. Where you put in the punchcards to learn the words. There's also a device to learn the basic numbers (see the end of the post for the numbers chart).
- Drone Fabrication. You can generate drones here and fight them (different from the Lost Dutch Oven one)
- Equipment Fabrication. You can fabricate Bracelets and Brooches.
- Secondary Storage. You get a bunch of scraps from here.
- Auditory Nuisance Containment. This is a little musical drone. You can make him part of your band (see Driftwood Band section in the main guide
- Madness Maw Mine. Grab the El Vibrato Cylinder that's here. The terminal can be used to turn scraps into stuff. The headbands are especially useful since you can fix the cultists in the mine (instead of killing them) by giving them one. Options (in order, they cost 10 scraps each):
- El Vibrato Helmet
- El Vibrato Headband
- El Vibrato Pants
- El Vibrato Boots
- Curious Copse. Here, you can make a Perfect Cup of Coffee (see below under 'Other Goals' for instructions) and, more importantly, build an El Vibrato Bridge (scroll down to the El Vibrato Bridge section for details).
- Soupstock Lode. Here you can use the three El Vibrato Fluid that you find here (need a keystone to open the chest) to make consumables:
- Organic Sustenance --> El Vibrato Food Cube (+5 M/M/M, +20 max HP)
- Organic Sedative --> El Vibrato Rum (+30% item and meat drop)
- Organic Refreshment --> El Vibrato Seltzer (+5 M/M/M, +2 AP)
in progress
You should already have one spare El Vibrato Cylinder going into Part III (in addition to the one you used at the Lost Dutch Oven Mine). As soon as you can, pick up the third and last one at the Abandoned Mine. Now that you have all the cylinders:
- Curious False Mountain (East Power). Let's start by power up the generator here (using an El Vibrato Cylinder with the e-shaped thing). Once that's up and running you can use the terminal to:
- Initalize the Chronokey (key-shaped El Vibrato Device)
- Increase power for the Time Tube (this basically turns on the Time Squeezer, which allows you to make things older or younger)
- Direct power to the Roberto Containment Facility.
- Curious Flat Plain (West Power). Use this terminal to direct power to the left side. At the terminal select Local Power Destination (1) and then Roberto Containment Facility.
- Deepest Delve Mine. Now that everything is powered up, it's time to head to where the Roberto (Anti-Bob) Containment Facility is.
- On Floor #2, you'll find an El Vibrato Cross stuck to an altar (once you fight off the cultists).
- On Floor #4, you'll need to pickaxe + muscle a rock wall and insert a key stone to get to the El Vibrato area.
- Assuming you did steps 1 and 2 above, the left and right sides should now be online.
- Place the El Vibrato Cross in the big thing in the center.
- Then, go to the terminal and (1) Initialize Roberto Containment System. If done correctly, you can now grab the El Vibrato Crown.
Congrats you did it!
El Vibrato Goals
Primary Goal: Roberto Containment / Anti-Bob Containment (Deepest Delve Mine)
Ultimately, your goal is to power on the Robert Containment Facility (also referred to as the anti-Bob Containment), located in the Deepest Delve Mine. There's three main components to make this happen, but in order to complete the last two things (directing power), the Curious Flat Plains and Curious False Mountain terminals need to be powered up. You do this by placing El Vibrato Cylinders into the generators located at each place. See below under El Vibrato Cylinders and Generators for a list of places to find the cylinders. Once that's done:
- Complete the device (Deepest Delve Mine). Grab the El Vibrato Cross on Level 2 of the mine and put it into the machine in Level 4 in order to activate it, but it's still offline after that.
- West Power. Use the terminal at the Curious Flat Plain to direct power to the left side. At the terminal select Local Power Destination (1) and then Roberto Containment Facility.
- East Power. Use the terminal at the Curious False Mountain to direct power to the right side. At the terminal select Local Power Destination (1) and then Roberto Containment Facility.
Once it's up and running, visit the area and get your El Vibrato Crown. Then, you can stop directing power to it, and it'll still keep working. Making this happen is a 'successful' outcome for this sidequest. Of course, there's a lot more that you can do with the El Vibrato Terminals.
This stuff is covered above, but here a summary of the main things you're trying to activate or make happen. If you are having trouble, use the more detailed step-by-step instructions above.
- Generators. Locate the cylinders and power up each of the three generators (see below under El Vibrato Cylinders and Generators for locations)
- Language Learning (Curious Abandoned Well). Insert punchcards to learn words. When you've put in enough, it'll let you know you've learned all you need to know and the terminals will no longer be in gibberish.
- Headband Fabrication (Madness Maw Mine). The headbands can be used to cure the cultists. You can exchange scraps for headbands at this location's terminal.
- El Vibrato Rod at the Curious Flat Plains (in Part III). You'll pick this up off a dead body and it reveals a lot of El Vibrato stuff in locations where it was invisible before. (You may need to power up the terminal found at this location to get it to work). See the list below (Areas Uncloaked) for places where new El Vibrato-y stuff will appear once you get this.
- Chronokey (Curious False Mountain). The Chronokey will open up time portals in five locations. See the list below. Get the Chronokey by following a few steps at this terminal:
- Select Local Power Terminal (1).
- Select Local Power Destination (1), and Chronokey Facility (3).
- Go back to the Primary Terminal (2), select the Chronokey Terminal (3) and Initalize the Chronokey (1). Boom. You know it worked if you end up with a key-shaped El Vibrato Device (Chronokey).
- Time Squeezer Tube (Curious False Mountain). Select the Time Squeezer on the terminal and increase power to it. The big device in the front is the time tube. See below under Time Squeezer Tube for a list of the things it accepts.
The El Vibrato Bridge (HT Hippofant)
If you'd like to build an El Vibrato Bridge, you'll need access to the Curious Copse. The generator at the Lost Dutch Oven Mines (requires an El Vibrato Cylinder) powers this terminal. If you need help, El Vibrato Main Guide, Part I (scroll up) provides a detailed walkthrough to get it powered up.
Once the Curious Copse terminal is up and running, here's what you need to do:
- Use the Pipeline Terminal (option 1) to redirect the Power Pipeline (option 3)'s Source (option 1) to Local Solar Array (option 3) and Destination (option 2) to North Central Construction Facility (4).
- Then return to the Pipeline Terminal (3), and adjust the Matter Pipeline (4) Source (1) to Planetary Matter Teleporter (2) and Destination (2) to North Central Construction Facility (4).
- Return to the Pipeline Terminal (3) then the Primary Terminal (5).
- Use the Solar Array Terminal (2) to adjust the solar array to maximum power (1-4). The power should be at 606. If you're having trouble with this, use trial and error to figure it out:
- Hit west. If that increases the power, keep pressing it until it stops increasing. If not, hit east.
- Hit north. if that increases the power, keep pressing it until it stops increasing. If not, hit south.
- Return to the Primary Terminal (5).
- Then Construction Terminal (4), Selection Construction (1), Municipal Construction (2), Local Bridge Beacon (2). If it's right, then Initialize (1) will work.
- You'll end up with a bridge model that looks like a mini-bridge. Take it over to the viewport at the railway (pay 5 meat), and Smee will handle the rest.
Here are some of the other things you can do using the El Vibrato equipment:
- Perfect Cup of Coffee (Curious Copse). If you look at the coffee it tells you the Refreshment/Temperature should be at 5 and 6, respectively. Check out the console and you'll see it's set it 2 and 6. Use the console to increase the refeshment to 5. Once these settings are right, you can go push the button on the machine and brew the coffee.
- El Vibrato Musician (Curious Abandoned Well). One of the five musicians in the Driftwater band is actually a drone. See the Driftwater band section in the full guide for details.
- Saving Alexandria. You can save Alexandria once you have the Chronokey working. See the instructions above. Then, go to Alexandria's Ranch and grab her from the portal that appears.
- Cowsbane Bale (Curious False Mountain). You can use the Time Squeezer to age your cowsbane seeds to get a bale of cowsbane. See above for instructions.
Lists of Stuff
Three cylinders power up the three generators (they look like broken 'e's). Places you'll find the cylinders:
- Lost Dutch Oven Mine (In Part I)
- Madness Maw Mine (In Part II)
- Abandoned Mine (In Part III)
And three places you'll find generators that need power.
- Lost Dutch Oven Mine (In Part I) --> Powers up Curious Copse and Curious Abandoned Well
- Curious False Mountain (In Part III) --> Powers up Curious False Mountain
- Curious Flat Plain (In Part III) --> Powers up Curious Flat Plain and El Vibrato Rod
El Vibrato Portals
Once you have the Chronokey (located at the Curious False Mountain), there are a few places where you can make portals appear with fun benefits.
- Alexandra's ranch - You can save Alexandria and she can go off and open a bookstore in Dirtwater.
- West Pole Beach - You get a bunch of items including Mr. Accessory.
- Fort Unncessary - You can get 'strange glass rectangle' which is basically a smartphone that's an offhand item.
- Snake Springs - You get a plunger.
- Fort of Darkness - Steal some boots
Once you have the El Vibrato Rod (from the Curious Flat Plains in Part III), it has the effect of uncloaking things that were invisible before. (You may need to power up the terminal next to it and do something else with the terminal first -- confirming/pending)
These are the areas you can revisit where there will now be either El Vibrato Monoliths (gives the Energized! effect which is a stackable +4 M/M/M, consumes a battery) or El Vibrato Lockboxes (contains scaps/punchcards, consumes a keystone).
Additional Monoliths
- Shaggy Dog Cave
- Cavern Canyon
- Jumbleneck Mine
- Snakepit Mine
- Shroomcave
- Humming Cave
- Kole Ridge Mine
- Madness Maw Mine
- Abandoned Mine
- Deepest Delve Mine, bottom level
Time Squeezer Tube (Curious False Mountain)
Time-tube-able stuff. There's a time tube where you can make stuff older or younger. Here are the items it accepts:
- Cowsbane seeds --> Cowsbane bale
- Lump of Dense Coal --> Diamond
- Stick of Dynamite (20 damage) --> Old Stick of Dynamite (40 damage)
- Cheap Wine (50 meat) --> Decent Wine --> Fine Wine (sells for 150 meat) --> Vinegar
Make it Newer
- El Vibrato Scraps --> Batteries/Keystones/Headbands/Etc.
- Vinegar --> Fine Wine --> Decent Wine --> Cheap Wine
- Old Stick of Dynamite --> Stick of Dynamite
This is a quick summary of what is located where. For more detailed instructions on how to activate things and get them working and where to find them, etc., scroll up.
